Featuring a unique single-player campaign that picks up where StarCraft: Brood War left off, StarCraft 2 will present a cast of new heroes and familiar faces in an edgy sci-fi story filled with adventure and intrigue.
The story-mode campaign will also offer some unique aspects for players who enjoy single-player content. For example, here's a StarCraft 2 new character: Selendis, the female Protoss female Executor. Selendis was a student of Artanis (character from StarCraft 1) and today she's an Executor. This means that she has many new weapons and robotic fighting machines at her command to help preserve Protoss lives in battle. And you can bet she is eager to take the battle to the Zerg and reclaim Aiur. Selendis represents the best and brightest of what the Protoss can be: fiercely loyal to her race's ideals, completely dedicated and focused beyond any mere human capacity.

The launch of Starcraft 2 will take the world by storm. It would be best not to schedule any important meetings on that day as an influx of coincidental sick leaves will leave managers baffled. The same thing happened with the launch of Halo 3 last year.

StarCraft 2 News: Karune (StarCraft 2 Community Manager), shares some insight into his role as a conduit between Blizzard and the community, in StarCraft Source's recent [ interview ]
StarCraft 2 News Units It seems that the Cobra is finally out and that the Thor has lost its bombardment ability, so the shoulder guns need to go. Thor has a good bonus versus armored units on the ground and does well against most (but not all) air units making use of his AA missiles. Presently, he can be countered by range, mobility or certain powerful anti-armor units.
StarCraft 2 New Units. TF-620 Nomad: Construct with attitude. The nomad combines the functions of light manufacturing center and observation post rolled into one. A common sight among the fringe-world colonies, the nomad is a robust, air vehicle built to operate independently in all but the harshest climates.
New Terran Units: Even more, it seems the Nomad still will have its basic Defensive Matrix ability on top of Nano-Repair, Turrets and Detection. Irradiate was not yet implemented into the game, but we never know. --StarCraft 2 New Units
StarCraft 2 New Units: The Ghost's EMP ability currently affects both building and unit shields, as well as casters energy. Also, seems that the Cobra has either been removed or is being reworked.
StarCraft 2 New Units: The Banelings are pretty much the melee killers in StarCraft 2, though they have very little hit points, and are easy to kill from afar. The good news is that they operate on a timer. However, if you are a Zerg player and you would get some of these creatures among his drones, you will significantly stifle his economy. -- StarCraft News
StarCraft 2 New Units: Did you knew that Thor can now attack air units?! Isn't way this too much of an advantage? Anyway, the developers may be adding a new mechanic, in which the Thor could be first immobilized (but still able to fire), and then it could be destroyed. However, while the Thor is immobilized, a SCV can repair it back to full health, having it regain mobility. -- StarCraft News
StarCraft 2 New Units: The developers outlined that they will make the mouse viewable in saved replays, which is great news for us; however, it may be more likely that they'll have the options to show both the view of the players playing, as well as selection icons of the units being currently selected in the replay.
The StarCraft II storyline continues 4 years after the events of Brood War. Daggoth is dead, along with the rest of the Cerebrates, and Kerrigan is the sole power behind the Swarm now. After Judicators were eliminated from the Protoss power structure, the arbiters quickly fell into disuse. When the Protoss fled to Shakuras, all arbiters were lost along with Aiur. --StarCraft 2 Story
StarCraft 2 New Units: the Protoss have new shield-equipped units (the Immortals) who prove resistant to heavy weaponry, making a problem for units like Terran Siege Tanks. However, their shields are not activated by the relatively weak guns of the Terran Reapers, putting them in disadvantage. Siege Tanks firing from the fog of war, such as on an unseen cliff, will not reveal its location from the fog of war to its enemy. -- Siege Tank Evolution
StarCraft 2 New Units: The Firebats were supposed to be permanently replaced by Reapers. The Reaper is definitely one of the most powerful units in the hands of a skilled player, as its hit and run ability is unmatched in early game. The mines that they drop also do significant damage to StarCraft 2 Structures. Reapers can do a lot more than simply annoy the enemy: they can be efficient scouts, base raiders, hit and runners and they can make use of the terrain to their advantage, firing with ranged weapons from above cliffs. Anyway, the Firebats are back in the game, but with added Hit Points to help them get real close to their enemies. Firebats also must be produced from the Factory (StarCraft 2 Structures) rather than the Barracks from the original StarCraft, since their suits are larger and able to sustain more enemy fire. -- StarCraft News
StarCraft 2 New Units: To deal with the even growing swarms, the Protoss have the Colossus, massive tripod-like units that can wipe out the Zerglings with a laser beam. Again, however, the system is balanced in that manner that the Colossi are vulnerable to airborne attacks and to mutated suicide Banelings. The Colossi are really strong; one of the representatives said "Once you get Colossus, it's good game." Also, because of the Colossus's height, it will be susceptible to anti-air defenses like the Terran Missile Turrets. It is possible for the Colossus to be hit by ground and air attacks at the same time. Hmm... interesting! -- StarCraft News
